Some of the first aerial fire spotting patrols were carried out over Wisconsin in 1915 by Mr. L. A. Vilas, using his Curtiss flying boat.

The DC10 Air Tanker uses a delivery system made up of three Erickson Aircrane tanks strapped under the fuselage.

When hovering over a lake and using a pond snorkel, the Erickson Aircrane can pick up 7,650 litres of water in just 45 seconds.
